Aetna has three general types of vision plans for their members: Funded plans, discount plans and exam only plans.
Funded plans allow the member a specific dollar amount that can be applied directly toward purchase of glasses or contact lenses. Discount plans have scheduled discount amounts that allow the member to receive glasses at a rate greatly reduced from the retail price (Note: other in store discounts cannot be combined). And exam only plans offer members access to an eye examination.
By submitting all the necessary information to obtain your health care benefits through the
Insurance Pre-approval Form you can be spared the time consuming process of filling out insurance forms when you're in the store. Sometimes we find out that your insurance company may have a problem with your coverage that we can correct for you, before you come in.
